Wood is recruiting for a Senior Project Engineering Specialist ( contract) to join our Minerals and Metals team office in Vancouver, BC.

Final salary will be based on relevant and applicable experience, education, and the specific skill set and qualifications required for the role.

Typical Responsibilities
- Clarify and provide guidance on scope items either by communication with client, experience with project site, knowledge of client systems, or physical investigation of site, and report findings back to design team
- Assist in coordination of cross discipline input in to engineering deliverables
- Coordinating between engineering and procurement on scope of supply, technical documents and bid clarifications
- Coordinate between engineering and estimating team for material take-offs, inclusions and exclusions, and other technical aspects
- Assist the Project Manager in all aspects of project work
- Assist the Project Controls Manager in reporting of progress to client and preparation of change documentation
- Assist in maintaining the look-ahead engineering schedule and work lists
- Monitor discipline progress and performance and develop action plans when required
- Monitor project scope and confirm changes using the project management of change process
- Assist with the development and maintenance of action logs showing decisions and information required to maintain schedule
- Coordinate sub-area engineering deliverables for scope prior to being issued for a commercial purpose
- Interface with construction as required to provide technical clarity
- Assist in maintaining decision record log
- Keep the Project Manager informed of difficulties encountered and issues that arise
- Participate in key discussions at site and with client, with respect to technical inquiries of scope clarification as well as progress reporting

Expected:
- Registered Professional Engineer with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience on mineral processing projects
- Experience with mining engineering design, engineering progressing, procurement packages development, contract development, scope of work writing, EWP definition, key quantity management, change control, and scheduling/planning.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must be able to demonstrate effective organizational skills and be able to work independently and effectively in a team environment
- Fluent in Spanish and English - please state on your resume
- Authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required
