Location: Hybrid / Kings Hill, Kent - This is a hybrid role. However, colleagues will be expected to travel to customer sites across Kent and surrounding areas as required. Salary: £40,000 per annum Contract: Permanent Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week EiS is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer with strong Microsoft 365 and cloud transformation expertise to lead and support endtoend modernisation projects for schools, academies, and SMEs. You’ll help customers transition from legacy onpremises environments into secure, scalable Microsoft cloud platforms—modernising identity, data, devices, and applications along the way. This role blends handson technical delivery with project leadership, covering cloud migration, networking, Windows Server administration, endpoint management, and classroom technologies. You’ll work across Entra ID, Intune, Autopilot, SharePoint/OneDrive, Microsoft 365 security, and hybrid identity, acting as a trusted technical expert and 3rdline escalation point. Why this role matters As an Infrastructure Engineer, you play a central role in delivering reliable, modern, and secure IT services. You’ll lead cloud migration and infrastructure initiatives, support hybrid and cloudnative solutions, and ensure smooth daytoday operations for our customers. Your work directly enables schools and public sector organisations to operate efficiently, securely, and with confidence in their technology. What you’ll be doing Delivering endtoend cloud migrations, including: Active Directory → Entra ID (hybrid or cloudonly) File servers → SharePoint Online / OneDrive Applications → Intune packaged deployments Group Policy → Intune configuration profiles & security baselines Designing, implementing, and optimising hybrid identity, Conditional Access, and Entra Connect/Cloud Sync configurations. Building modern endpoint management solutions using Intune, including Autopilot pipelines, device compliance, and endpoint hardening. Administering and securing Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, Defender for Endpoint, and tenant governance. Infrastructure & Service Delivery Delivering and supporting onpremises and cloud IT solutions across customer sites and remotely. Leading complex IT and cloud migration projects, ensuring delivery to time, cost, and quality standards. Conducting site, cloud, and network surveys to inform solution design and proposals. Providing proactive and reactive 3rdline support, troubleshooting advanced issues across identity, networking, Windows Server, virtualisation, cloud platforms, and user devices. Supporting curriculum technologies and classroom solutions (touch panels, smartboards, projectors). Liaising with thirdparty suppliers and contractors to ensure effective service delivery. Identifying IT risks and recommending mitigation strategies with senior engineers and management. Producing highquality documentation including runbooks, LLDs, topology diagrams, assessments, incident records, and project updates. Sharing knowledge, mentoring colleagues, and contributing to a strong learning culture. Completing mandatory training in Cyber Security, Risk Management, Data Protection, and cloud technologies. Undertaking any additional duties reasonably aligned to the role. What we’re looking for Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent), including English and Maths (grade C/4 or above). 2+ years’ experience delivering Microsoft 365 or onpremtocloud migration projects. Relevant ICT certifications desirable (Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Level 3 ICT Diploma, AZ104, MS102/MD102).) Advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Azure services across identity, security, device management, and collaboration. PowerShell scripting for automation and troubleshooting. Experience managing user devices and platforms such as EISnet and RM CC4. Familiarity with school MIS systems (SIMS, Arbor, Bromcom). Experience conducting site, cloud, and network surveys. Understanding of IT Service Delivery, projectbased environments, SLAs, and ITILaligned processes. Knowledge of Dynamics 365 is desirable. Understanding of EiS products and services is advantageous. Strong problemsolving ability and logical troubleshooting. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement. Ability to work independently or collaboratively on complex tasks.
