Job Summary:
We are looking for a detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to join our team in Chicago, Illinois. This role is fundamental to maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring the smooth operation of our logistics and supply chain functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, excellent organizational skills, and a thorough understanding of inventory management principles. You will be responsible for conducting cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, implementing inventory control procedures, and maintaining accurate data within our inventory management system. Your precision and diligence are key to preventing stockouts and overstock situations, ensuring optimal inventory levels.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure accuracy.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly.
  • Maintain and update inventory records in the warehouse management system (WMS).
  • Implement and enforce inventory control policies and procedures.
  • Monitor stock levels and identify slow-moving or obsolete inventory.
  • Coordinate with other departments to resolve inventory-related issues.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends and recommend improvements.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or higher in a related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in using WMS software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Must be able to perform physical tasks, including occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs.
  • Knowledge of warehouse safety regulations and the use of PPE .
  • Understanding of logistics and supply chain operations.
