We are seeking a skilled Warehouse Technician for our facility in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This role is essential for maintaining the operational integrity and efficiency of our warehouse. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical aptitude and practical warehouse experience. You will be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of warehouse equipment, assisting with complex inventory management systems, and ensuring the smooth flow of goods through the facility. This position requires a proactive approach to identifying and resolving operational challenges. Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on warehouse equipment, including forklifts and conveyor systems.
- Assist in the implementation and management of warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues to minimize downtime.
- Ensure that all safety equipment and procedures are followed diligently.
- Conduct regular inspections of the warehouse to identify potential hazards or maintenance needs.
- Manage inventory levels and assist with cycle counting and stocktaking processes.
- Support the receiving and shipping departments as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification is a plus.
- Proven experience in a warehouse or technical maintenance role.
- Familiarity with warehouse equipment maintenance and repair.
- Knowledge of logistics operations and inventory control principles.
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals.
- Must be comfortable with physical tasks, including occasional lifting of up to 60 lbs.
- Adherence to strict safety guidelines and use of appropriate PPE .
