We are looking for a skilled Forklift Operator to join our busy warehouse operations in San Antonio, Texas. In this role, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating forklifts to move, load, unload, and store materials and products within the warehouse. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of forklift operation, warehouse procedures, and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment. You will work closely with other warehouse staff to ensure the smooth flow of goods and materials, contributing directly to our logistics efficiency. Strict adherence to all safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE ), is paramount. This position involves significant Lifting and requires a person who is attentive to detail, reliable, and possesses excellent spatial awareness. You will be handling a variety of goods, ensuring they are stored correctly and safely. The ability to work independently as well as part of a team is essential. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
- Move materials to and from storage areas, production areas, and shipping docks.
- Stack and arrange materials in designated locations, ensuring stability and accessibility.
- Conduct pre-operation inspections of forklifts and report any issues.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Utilize appropriate PPE at all times while operating machinery and in the warehouse environment.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and stock placement.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Support overall warehouse operations and logistics flow.
- Perform tasks that may involve regular Lifting of items.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and inventory control.
- Excellent knowledge of forklift safety procedures and best practices.
- Ability to perform regular Lifting and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Proficiency in wearing and using required PPE .
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Familiarity with logistics and material handling is beneficial.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
