Staff Accountant
A growing, multi-entity organization is seeking an experienced accounting professional with strong communication skills and a client-service mindset to join its corporate accounting team. This role is ideal for someone with full-cycle accounting experience who enjoys working directly with business owners and internal stakeholders, maintaining accuracy, and operating in a collaborative, detail-oriented environment.
This position provides full-charge accounting services across multiple operating entities. The role partners closely with a Controller and works directly with leadership and key personnel, supporting all accounting and finance processes through a centralized technology platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer billing for contract and non-contract services
- Vendor disbursements and accounts payable management
- Accounts receivable management and collections
- Contract administration and management
- Cash management, banking, and reconciliations
- Credit card processing, charges, and payments
- Payroll support and review
- Sales and use tax reporting
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Monthly close and financial statement preparation
- Financial reporting including income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow
- Budgeting and financial forecasting (three-statement modeling)
- Support for audits and third-party requests (CPA, insurance, etc.)
- Ad hoc accounting projects and financial analysis
- Serve as a primary accounting contact for leadership and key stakeholders
- Adhere to and enhance internal controls and accounting procedures
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 2+ years of full-cycle or full-charge accounting experience
- Strong understanding of AP, AR, payroll, reconciliations, and month-end close
- Systems- and data-oriented mindset; ERP experience preferred
- Advanced Excel proficiency
- Client-service oriented with excellent communication skills
- Highly detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to identify automation and efficiency opportunities
