Position Summary
The
Communications Manager
provides leadership, direction, and oversight for all external and internal communications at Intown. This role shapes how the church communicates its mission, supports ministry clarity, and ensures that our messaging reflects Intown's theology, tone, and values.
The Communications Manager is responsible for setting communication strategy, coordinating messaging across ministries, maintaining brand consistency, and supervising the Content Producer. This is a strategic, relational, and organizational role—not primarily a production role.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Communications Leadership
- Develop and maintain a clear and cohesive communications strategy aligned with Intown's mission and vision.
- Ensure that messaging across all platforms reflects Intown's gospel-centered theology and brand voice.
- Serve as the primary communications liaison for pastoral staff, ministry leaders, and elders.
Oversight of Internal & External Communications
- Oversee weekly email newsletters, pastoral communications, and core member updates.
- Oversee church-wide announcements, seasonal campaigns, and major ministry communications.
- Provide final editorial oversight for print and digital content.
Digital & Web Oversight
- Ensure website accuracy, clarity, and ease of navigation (with support from Content Producer).
- Oversee social media strategy and calendar, ensuring consistent presence and engagement.
Project Management & Coordination
- Manage communication timelines, workflows, and priorities for all ministries.
- Collect and organize information from staff, ministries, and volunteers for communication needs.
- Delegate tasks to the Content Producer and external freelancers as appropriate.
Leadership & Supervision
- Provide direction, coaching, and feedback to the Content Producer.
- Work collaboratively with photographers, designers, videographers, and volunteers.
Measurement & Improvement
- Track analytics (email, website, social) to inform and improve communication strategies.
- Evaluate effectiveness and adjust priorities as needed.
Qualifications
- Strong theological alignment with Intown's beliefs, mission, and values.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience in communications, marketing, ministry, or related fields.
- Experience managing projects, timelines, and workflows.
- Ability to lead collaboratively and relationally; enjoys working with people.
- Organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and pastoral in tone.

- Compensation:
Competitive part-time salary within overall communications budget
