Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- R&D projects - Contribute to the design and construction of new tools, methods, procedures and processes in the lab.
- Lead the projects or assist the scientists with the troubleshooting of laboratory related issues.
- Provide technical support to existing methods and analysis solutions.
- Prepare and present study results.
- Writing technical reports and method/instrument SOPs.
- Collaborate with Clinical team to meet CLIA, CAP, and GLP/GMP requirements.
- Work with the R&D team on development and validation of molecular and MALDI-TOF based assays.
- Development and improvement of PCR- or NGS-based molecular biology tests.
- Lead to develop the automation workflow and reagents preparation for manufacturing the products.
- Manage R&D projects and technicians with limited or no supervision.
- Authorized access to general laboratory

Qualifications
- MA, or Ph.D. degree in a relevant biology/chemistry discipline preferred.
- Peer reviewed publications preferred.
- Familiar with NGS industry experience spanning DNA extraction through sample analysis.
- Experience and knowledge in the genetic clinical lab or IVF experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of basic molecular biology techniques (i.e., PCR, DNA quantitation, library preparation etc.) as well as understanding of the various platforms of NGS (Illumina, Ion Torrent, Nanopore, MGI etc.).
- Experience with bioinformatic analysis tools would be beneficial for this role given the large amounts of data typically found in next generation sequencing, and server maintenance.
- Familiarity with liquid handlers and other automation tools is desirable.
- Demonstrate innovation, adaptability, and schedule flexibility; consider a dynamic environment as an opportunity to learn and grow.

- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to work independently & as a team.
Physical Requirements
- Repetitive movement of hands, arms, legs and fingers (typing and/or writing).
- Exposure to general office environment conditions.
- Sitting, with occasional walking, standing, stooping and moving about.
- Occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds.
Pay: From $80,000.00 per year
