Project Executive

My client is a leading heavy civil construction contractor in New York and is seeking an experienced
Civil Project Executive
to oversee and lead the delivery of complex infrastructure projects throughout the state. This senior leadership role is ideal for a proven civil construction professional with strong operational, financial, and client-facing experience.

The Role

They will be responsible for executive-level oversight of multiple heavy civil projects, ensuring consistent execution, profitability, and client satisfaction. The Civil Project Executive will partner closely with operations, estimating, and executive leadership to drive performance across the project portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide executive oversight for multiple heavy civil projects, including highways, bridges, utilities, and infrastructure work
• Lead and support project managers, superintendents, and field leadership
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards
• Oversee financial performance, including budgets, forecasts, change management, and margin protection
• Serve as a key point of contact for owners, agencies, and stakeholders
• Support bid reviews, project pursuits, and strategic planning
• Drive consistency in processes, reporting, and operational best practices
• Mentor and develop project leadership teams

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in US heavy civil construction
• Senior leadership experience overseeing large, complex civil projects
• Strong knowledge of New York DOT (NYSDOT), MTA, or other public-sector agencies
• Proven track record managing multiple projects and large teams
• Strong financial acumen and experience with project controls
• Excellent leadership, communication, and client management skills
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
