We are seeking a Materials Manager to oversee procurement and inventory for foam part production. This role ensures optimal sourcing, cost efficiency, and strong vendor relationships while collaborating closely with production to minimize waste and improve processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Source materials, equipment, and services while optimizing costs and supplier quality.
- Prepare and verify purchase orders, ensuring accurate specifications and pricing.
- Monitor inventory levels, forecast demand, and coordinate deliveries.
- Negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships.
- Authorize payments and resolve shipment discrepancies.
- Analyze purchasing data to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate with production teams to understand material usage and needs.
- Implement and track process improvements in procurement operations.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience in purchasing, supply chain, logistics, or related field (degree preferred but not required).
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of manufacturing methods, budgeting, and cost control.
- Physical & Other Requirements:
- Reasonable physical fitness.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This is a work on-site position at our Barberton, OH headquarters. This is not a remote position.
