RMPT is looking for a Service Department Manager at our Brighton, CO location. The Service Department Manager supervises and manages a team of technicians to ensure efficient and high-quality repairs. You'll lead and manage the Service Department consistent with our values and mission to bring value to our employees, service and quality to our customers, and financial returns to the company.
What You'll Do:
Supervision and leadership:
- Assign tasks to technicians and manage the work schedule.
- Train, coach, motivate, and evaluate technician performance.
- Ensure work is completed on time and meets quality standards.
Operational management:
- Monitor and drive production to meet key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Inspect equipment to diagnose problems and ensure proper repair procedures are followed.
- Maintain and enforce shop cleanliness and safety regulations.
- Manage the inventory of special tools, and supplies.
Administration and communication:
- Oversee the preparing and completion of work orders, estimates, and any necessary paperwork.
- Track and report on shop performance using relevant software.
- Handle customer complaints and follow-up to ensure satisfaction.
- Stay current on the latest technology and repair techniques through ongoing training.
What You'll Need:
- Associate degree in Diesel Technology or equivalent experience preferred.
- 10+ years of experience as a technician or supervisor of technicians.
- Basic hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical skills
- Strong communication skills. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and employees.
- Ability to compute and calculate basic math, including ratios and percentages.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Knowledge of database software, Internet software, manufacturing software, and order processing systems.
- Ability to Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
- Strong commitment to customer service.
- Teamwork skills: Balancing team and individual responsibilities
- Ability to plan and organize work activities.
