Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Multisystemic Therapy (MST) Therapist to join our mental health services team. This role involves providing intensive, evidence-based therapy to youth and their families within a community setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, experience working with children and families, and a passion for improving behavioral and emotional health outcomes. The MST Therapist will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive, individualized care through various therapeutic modalities, including behavioral therapy, family counseling, and crisis intervention. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on clients' lives while working within a supportive, multidisciplinary environment.

Duties

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' mental health, behavioral issues, and family dynamics using diagnostic tools such as ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans incorporating evidence-based practices like cognitive behavioral therapy, applied behavior analysis, psychodynamic therapy, and art or dance therapy as appropriate.
  • Provide in-home and community-based multisystemic therapy sessions focused on behavior management, crisis intervention, and skill development for youth with complex emotional or behavioral challenges.
  • Facilitate individual, group, and family counseling sessions to address issues such as trauma (PTSD), grief, addiction, gender identity concerns, developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and chronic pain management.
  • Manage case documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain accurate medical records using appropriate medical terminology and coding (ICD-9/10; CPT).
  • Collaborate with schools, healthcare providers, social services, and other stakeholders to coordinate care plans and support services for clients with disabilities or special education needs.
  • Engage in ongoing clinical research and data collection to evaluate treatment effectiveness and improve service delivery.
  • Participate in intake evaluations via telehealth or in-person consultations to determine client eligibility and develop initial treatment strategies.
  • Respond effectively to crises by managing safety concerns and implementing crisis management protocols.
  • Stay current with developments in mental health counseling, psychopharmacology, social work practices, and behavioral health interventions relevant to pediatrics, geriatrics, or outpatient settings.

Skills

  • Extensive experience with psychotherapy modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, group therapy, art therapy, dance/movement therapy, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and addiction counseling.
  • Proficiency in crisis intervention techniques and crisis management strategies for diverse populations.
  • Strong background in child & family counseling, working with children with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder.
  • Knowledge of medical documentation standards including ICD-9/10 coding systems and CPT coding for billing purposes.
  • Experience conducting diagnostic evaluations using medical terminology while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Effective communication skills for intake assessments, patient care planning, case management, and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Familiarity with telehealth platforms for remote counseling sessions.
  • Ability to work with individuals experiencing PTSD or grief issues; experience in special education or working with people with disabilities is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex cases involving mental health disorders such as Geriatrics issues or chronic pain conditions.
  • Compassionate approach combined with strong organizational skills to handle multiple cases efficiently within outpatient or inpatient settings. This position is ideal for licensed mental health professionals committed to delivering compassionate care through evidence-based practices while supporting clients' journey toward improved well-being.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50, $80,000.00 per year
