We are seeking an experienced and visionary Laboratory Director to lead our Laboratory Department with excellence, integrity, and innovation. As Laboratory Director, you will oversee all laboratory operations, ensure regulatory compliance, guide strategic initiatives, and mentor a highly skilled team, all while playing an essential role in patient care and organizational success.

What You'll Do

· Provide overall leadership and direction for all Laboratory Department operations

· Initiate, develop, implement, and continually improve laboratory policies and procedures

· Ensure compliance with JCAHO, College of American Pathologists (CAP), AABB, and all applicable regulatory standards

· Maintain and oversee robust quality control and assurance programs

· Recruit, develop, evaluate, and retain qualified laboratory staff

· Partner with colleges, professional organizations, and industry contacts to support staffing and recruitment efforts

· Evaluate staffing needs and provide ongoing justification for appropriate staffing levels

· Perform technical duties as needed while supporting and mentoring staff

· Collaborate closely with the Chief Operating Officer, providing reports and updates on departmental operations

· Lead staff orientation, training, and performance evaluations in partnership with the Education Department

· Foster clear communication through regular departmental huddles, updated communication boards, and documented meeting minutes

Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in:

· Chemical, Physical, Biological, or Clinical Laboratory Science, or

· Medical Technology

· Successful completion of a CAHEA-accredited Medical Technology Program (or equivalent)

· ASCP Certification required

· Detail-oriented, accountable, and adaptable in a fast-paced healthcare environment

· Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

· Minimum of 5 years of laboratory experience, including at least 2 years of hospital supervisory experience

Schedule

· Primarily Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (hours may vary)

· On-call responsibilities required

· Flexibility in scheduling is essential
