Under the general direction of the Architecture and Engineering Chief (ITM I), the incumbent will be responsible for expert-level architecture, technical leadership, and project management, with a focus on Salesforce platform and cloud-based integration platforms, data architecture, and application design. The ITS II acts as the technical architect on the most complex web/cloud-based integration platform and data architectural activities on behalf of the CWDS organization and performs functions in the domain of Software Engineering.
The ITS II is responsible for Salesforce platform architecture, developing as well as promoting and deploying the solution to programs and divisions throughout CWDS; trains and provides technical consultation to application and database developers throughout the architecture and engineering team. The ITS II independently provides architecture direction and is responsible for the deployment, implementation and support of CWDS systems.
The salary for this position will be based on the classification and/or range if candidates are not currently employed by the state. This does not include additional forms of compensation such as benefits and retirement. Hiring above minimums are not available for the IT classification series.

Desirable Qualifications
In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate: • Proven Salesforce Technical Architect experience designing high-performance, scalable solutions using core platform features, with deep expertise in architecture, data modeling, and governor limit constraints. • Extensive experience architecting and implementing scalable Salesforce solutions using Apex and Lightning Web Components, with strong expertise in Integration platform (Mulesoft), REST/SOAP APIs, asynchronous processing, integrations, and modern web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript). • Salesforce Certified Technical Architect and/or other relevant certifications. • Experienced in Agile development methodologies, project management standards, and tools, with practical expertise in Salesforce change and release management processes. • Experience in Snowflake data warehousing and data pipelines. • Proficiency with cloud technologies preferably AWS cloud. • Experience in the software development life cycle (SDLC) process. • Leads technical architecture efforts by solving complex challenges and mentoring development teams. • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including technical teams, business leaders, vendor contract resources, and end-users.
