Company Description

The Senior Program Manager plays a critical role in driving strategic initiatives and maximizing operational value delivery across their geographical ecosystem and organization. Partnering with various stakeholders, spanning Global Technology, Product and Geographical leadership, and cross-functional teams, they validate initiatives for program alignment while influencing both business and technical strategies to deliver high-quality solutions that enhance business value, improve efficiency, and elevate the stakeholder experience.

They support the creation, communication, and ongoing evolution of product roadmaps by understanding high-level technical design and requirements to support plan execution and participate in release scoping. They facilitate and effectively communicate complex and detailed concepts, initiate change based on program goals, and ensure their Global Technology teams are enabled, engaged, and focused on delivering new value while promoting the Global Technology program strategy throughout the organization.

While overseeing the progress of portfolio projects and activities, the Senior Program Manager will also define and document consistent productivity, quality, and value measurements, aimed at minimizing risk to commitment delivery.

You are responsible for guiding the day-to-day execution of work. You ensure your team is focused, well-supported, and aligned to business priorities. Through strong people development, clear backlog management, and effective stakeholder communication, you help translate strategic direction into meaningful results. You foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration, ensuring your team delivers value today while building capability for the future

  • Team Leadership: Lead a GT team by providing clear direction, support, and coaching to team members. Foster a positive team culture focused on collaboration, accountability, and results.
  • Work Execution: Manage the flow of work, ensuring priorities are clear, work is well-organized, and your team is consistently delivering against business needs.
  • People Development: Provide regular feedback, mentorship, and growth opportunities to help your team build skills and advance their careers.
  • Backlog & Process Management: Serve as Product Owner or backlog manager, using Agile practices to prioritize work, remove blockers, and improve delivery efficiency.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with business stakeholders and other GT teams to ensure technology services and solutions meet operational goals.
  • Communication: Keep stakeholders and leadership informed on team progress, risks, and accomplishments.
  • Operational Support: Oversee system or service health, support case resolution, and ensure your team is responsive to issues and opportunities.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously improve how your team works by refining internal processes, documentation, and team standards.
  • Compliance & Risk Awareness: Ensure your team follows enterprise standards related to security, data protection, and operational compliance.
  • Team Representation: Represent your team in department meetings, cross-team planning, and global/regional initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in IT, such as software development, analytics, infrastructure, automation, or IT service delivery.
  • Experience working directly with business stakeholders to understand needs, manage priorities, and deliver results.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Proven track record of mentoring and developing team members to grow technical and professional capabilities.
  • Experience building team or project visions, goals, and measurements.
  • Experience with Agile practices such as Scrum or Kanban and managing team backlogs.
  • Understanding of enterprise standards related to security, compliance, and change management.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across teams and departments.
  • Familiarity with Expeditors' systems, services, and operational processes (preferred)
  • Experience working in a distributed or global team environment (preferred)
