Position Summary

The Medical Assistant / Clinical Lab Coordinator is a key member of the clinical care team responsible for providing high-quality patient care, excellent customer service, and efficient clinical and laboratory support in a CLIA-certified setting.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Support (MA Duties)

  • Provide exceptional customer service and support patient flow.
  • Obtain vitals, medication histories, and assist with clinical procedures.
  • Administer injections, vaccines, and medications per protocol.
  • Perform EMR documentation, room stocking, and infection control procedures.

Laboratory Responsibilities

  • Perform venipuncture and Point-of-Care (POC) testing.
  • Prepare and send lab specimens to reference laboratories.
  • Track lab orders, results, and manage daily logs.
  • Maintain lab inventory, quality control, and compliance with CLIA standards.

Team & Organizational Responsibilities

  • Support a culturally diverse patient population.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Train new staff on lab workflows and assist students as appropriate.

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and respond to frequent workflow changes.
  • Competence in EMR documentation and basic computer skills.
  • Bilingual preferred (Spanish, Arabic, or relevant language).

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Medical Assistant certification (CCMA, CMA, RMA) or completion of an accredited MA program.
  • Current CPR (BLS) certification.
  • Experience in a clinical or medical office setting is desired
  • Phlebotomy experience and certification preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to hear and verbally communicate with patients and staff.
  • Ability to lift or move up to 25 pounds and perform physical tasks as required.

Work Location

Travel to our sites may be part of your responsibilities, depending on business needs.
