About Us: Island Waterpark is Fresno's premier family entertainment destination, delivering exceptional guest experiences through outstanding service, safety, and quality. Following our record-breaking 2025 season, we're looking to elevate our food and beverage program to match the excitement and energy of our attractions.

Position Overview: We're seeking a creative and passionate Executive Chef / Kitchen Manager who can transform our straightforward menu into an Instagram-worthy, memorable dining experience. This isn't about complexity for complexity's sake - it's about taking familiar favorites like nachos, burgers, and pizza and making them spectacular. We want someone who understands that presentation, quality ingredients, and thoughtful execution can turn simple food into something our guests can't wait to share.

What You'll Do:

  • Elevate our existing menu with creative presentations, premium ingredients, and that "WOW factor" that gets guests talking (and posting)
  • Lead all kitchen operations including food preparation, quality control, inventory management, and food safety compliance
  • Manage, train, and inspire kitchen staff to maintain consistently high standards throughout our busy season
  • Develop seasonal specials and limited-time offerings that drive excitement and repeat visits
  • Ensure full compliance with health department regulations and maintain our excellent safety record
  • Control food costs while maximizing quality and guest satisfaction
  • Collaborate with our operations team to streamline service during peak periods
  • Maintain kitchen equipment and coordinate with maintenance on repairs and upgrades

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven culinary experience with a portfolio that demonstrates creativity and visual appeal
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to build and manage seasonal kitchen teams
  • Experience in high-volume food service (waterpark, theme park, stadium, or similar environments a plus)
  • Food Handler certification and knowledge of California health code requirements
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak summer operations
  • A genuine passion for making even the simplest dishes memorable
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours during season
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods and work in a hot kitchen environment
