Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Property Manager to oversee the daily operations of residential and commercial properties. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills, a comprehensive understanding of property management regulations, and excellent customer service abilities. This role involves managing leasing processes, ensuring property maintenance, and maintaining positive relationships with tenants and vendors. The Property Manager will play a vital role in ensuring properties are well-maintained, compliant with legal standards, and profitable.
Duties
- Manage property leasing activities, including tenant screening, lease negotiations, and contract administration
- Oversee property maintenance and facilities management to ensure safety and operational efficiency
- Ensure compliance with Fair Housing regulations, Landlord-Tenant law, LIHTC guidelines, Section 8 policies, and other relevant legal requirements
- Utilize property management software such as Yardi and OneSite for data entry, reporting, and tenant communication
- Handle legal administrative tasks including filing contracts, managing legal notices, and coordinating with legal counsel when necessary
- Conduct regular inspections to assess property conditions and coordinate repairs or improvements
- Maintain positive relationships with tenants through excellent customer service and conflict management
- Upsell additional services or amenities to tenants to enhance occupancy rates and revenue
- Manage vendor relationships for property maintenance and repairs using CMMS systems
- Oversee administrative functions such as filing, record keeping, and office correspondence
- Facilitate lease renewals, rent collection, and delinquency follow-up using CRM tools
- Coordinate with leasing agents to promote available units and facilitate property tours
Experience
- Proven experience in property management or real estate administrative roles
- Knowledge of LIHTC programs, Section 8 housing policies, and Fair Housing regulations
- Proficiency with property management software such as Yardi, OneSite, and CMMS systems
- Strong understanding of landlord-tenant law and legal contract administration
- Experience in sales or upselling within a property management context is preferred
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle conflict effectively
- Office experience including data entry, filing, phone etiquette, and administrative support functions
- Background in facilities management or property maintenance is advantageous
- Demonstrated negotiation skills for lease agreements and vendor contracts
