Head Chef – Upscale Italian Restaurant

We are a new, independently owned upscale Italian restaurant opening in Little Rock, AR. Our focus is on handmade pasta, high-quality ingredients, and a refined dining experience. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the kitchen culture, and operational standards from day one.

Position: Head Chef

We are seeking a hands-on, calm, and systems-driven chef who can lead the kitchen with creativity and precision. The ideal candidate thrives in an upscale, full-service environment and takes pride in consistency, quality, and execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute a menu featuring handmade pastas, classic Italian dishes, and seasonal offerings
  • Oversee daily kitchen operations for a 75-seat dining room plus bar
  • Manage food cost, ordering, inventory, and waste control
  • Hire, train, schedule, and lead kitchen staff
  • Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation of all dishes
  • Maintain health department standards, cleanliness, and food safety
  • Collaborate with ownership on specials, seasonal menus, and growth plans

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a chef or lead cook in an upscale Italian or fine dining kitchen
  • Strong understanding of food costing and kitchen operations
  • Ability to lead calmly and effectively during busy services
  • Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented
  • ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Experience opening a restaurant is a plus, but not required
