Summary

Under the direction of the Purchasing Manager, the Supply Chain Analyst provides administrative support for Purchasing and other departments, in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Enters purchase order data in the system
  • Sends purchase orders to vendors
  • Sends forecasts and price requests to vendors
  • Enters quote information into system and file quotes
  • Calculates, tracks, and analyzes cost savings
  • Improves supply chain processes through continuous improvement
  • Creates and maintains key supply chain reports and KPI's
  • Utilizes early demand to suggest purchases
  • Prepares supplier scorecards, monitor OTD and quality
  • Drives cost savings initiatives and supports with analysis
  • Prepares data packages and analysis for annual vendor bids
  • Analyzes nesting data to improve yield and drive cost savings

Education and/or Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or related field required
  • 1-2 years of previous experience in Supply Chain preferred

Other skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, Teams)
  • Proficient in data visualization tools (power BI/tableau)
  • The ability to solve problems professionally in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities and competing deadlines is required.
  • Strong organizational, time management skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret purchasing related documents such as catalogs, product-related literature, and technical books and/or manuals. Ability to prepare reports, purchase orders and correspondence related to purchasing. Ability to communicate effectively with vendors and with other employees of the organization. 

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra. 

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instruction furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
