II. SUMMARY OF POSITION'S PURPOSE
Manages the overall planning, coordination and scheduling of maintenance activities.
III. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION – High School Diploma
- EXPERIENCE – 3-5 years of maintenance experience with a demonstrated ability to perform supervisory responsibilities.
- SKILLS – Good organizational and administrative skills are required. Must have a well-rounded knowledge of all maintenance related functions to include: electrical, mechanical, plumbing, painting, carpentry and HVAC activities.
- OTHER REQUIREMENTS - Must be physically capable of lifting in excess of 25 pounds on a continual basis. This position requires sustained manual dexterity with close mental/visual attention and the ability to perform job functions in a standing position for a majority of the work day. This position is exposed to environmental extremes, chemicals and fumes on a daily basis.
IV. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plans, coordinates and schedules maintenance related work orders to include working with architects, engineers and consultants.
- Inspects and supervises work from initial assignment to completion..
- Determines the material requirements for a given job and coordinates the purchase of these materials.
- Performs basic administrative accountabilities related to the supervision of maintenance personnel.
- Provides courteous and prompt service to all internal and external customers including students, parents, co-workers, etc. Schedules and/or attends conferences with parents. Prioritizes and addresses requests and assignments in a professional manner to develop cooperative relationships and to ensure that student and employee records confidentiality is assured.
- Identifies opportunities and recommends methods to improve service, work processes and financial performance, e.g. expense management. Assists in the implementation of quality improvement initiatives.
- Assists co-workers in the completion of tasks and assignments to ensure continuity of service. Orients new co-workers and actively supports teamwork throughout the school system.
- Performs other services as required.
