Job Title: TAX Manager ( Manchester / Leeds / Greenford - Onsite)
Position Overview
Are you ready to take your career to the next level? Join the Global Education Group as a pivotal member of our Group Tax Team ! In this exciting role, you will report directly to the Group Head of Tax and play a crucial part in our expansion both in the UK and internationally.
Your main focus will be leading VAT and indirect tax compliance for our operations, ensuring we minimize costs and risks while providing expert guidance on complex VAT matters. Collaborate with colleagues across various departments to ensure we meet all tax legislation requirements and develop efficient processes that support our growth.
Work Model: Onsite
Job Location: GBS, Manchester or GBS Leeds or GBS Greenford
Work Hours: 40 hours/Week
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation, management, and submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual tax reporting, filing, and payment requirements.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to enhance systems and processes, ensuring compliance with legislation and deadlines.
- Provide expert support and guidance on tax aspects of group activities, including risk management and cross-border tax support .
- Monitor compliance related to overseas activities and online learning, developing and implementing necessary processes.
- Engage in system development to maintain robust tax accounting records and ensure data accuracy across financial systems.
- Proactively manage the Group’s VAT exposure through regular reviews and appropriate VAT groupings.
- Assist in training and developing finance staff to recognize when specialist tax support is needed.
- Liaise with external advisors, HMRC , and actively participate within the sector.
- Collaborate with the Group Head of Tax on broader taxation issues affecting the Group.
- Perform any other duties appropriate to the grade as required.
Requirements
Essential
- Qualified accountant and/or tax advisor with significant post-qualification experience in VAT, corporation tax, and employment taxes within UK tax compliance and advisory .
- Proven experience in identifying and implementing system and process improvements.
- A proactive, self-motivated individual with commercial awareness and the ability to work collaboratively.
- Strong communication skills, with a passion for finding practical solutions and helping others grow.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to continuous personal development.
- Excellent management, planning, and organizational skills, adept at handling conflicting workloads and priorities.
- Proficient in IT, especially Excel, and experienced with large ERP systems.
Desirable
- Experience in the education sector .
- Knowledge of overseas taxes .
- Experience with Unit 4 ERP .
