We are hiring a skilled Forklift Operator for our busy distribution center in San Antonio, Texas. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving materials throughout the warehouse, loading and unloading trucks, and stocking inventory. This role is critical to our logistics operations, requiring precision, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to operate various types of forklifts. You will contribute to the overall productivity and safety of our warehouse environment.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to move, load, unload, and stack materials.
- Perform pre-operation inspections of forklifts to ensure safety and functionality.
- Safely transport goods to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Assist with receiving and shipping processes as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of material movement and inventory.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Keep the work area clean and organized.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately.
- Participate in inventory counts and other warehouse activities.
- Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing duties requiring physical exertion.
Qualifications:
- Valid Forklift Operator certification.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or logistics setting.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety regulations and procedures.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and good hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems is a plus.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment through proper use of PPE and safe operating practices.
