Our Jacksonville, Florida location is seeking an organized and reliable Receiving Clerk. This position is the first step in our inventory management process, ensuring all incoming goods are handled with care and accuracy. You will be responsible for unloading shipments, verifying quantities against purchase orders, inspecting for damages, and accurately documenting all received items in our system. A strong focus on detail, adherence to safety protocols, and effective communication are paramount. This role is key to maintaining accurate inventory levels and supporting the efficiency of our overall logistics operations.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect all incoming shipments.
- Verify contents of shipments against packing slips and purchase orders.
- Document all received items, noting any damages or discrepancies.
- Enter receiving data into the warehouse management system (WMS) accurately.
- Organize and stage received goods for put-away.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly receiving area.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Communicate effectively with vendors, drivers, and internal departments.
- Assist with inventory control activities as needed.
- Support the broader logistics team in meeting operational goals.
Requirements:
- Ability to perform tasks involving moderate Lifting (up to 40 lbs).
- Understanding of basic warehouse operations and logistics.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Good organizational skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Commitment to safety and willingness to wear all required PPE.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
