Job Summary:
We are seeking a meticulous and organized Receiving Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Receiving Clerk plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of incoming inventory. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment. You will be responsible for unloading merchandise, verifying incoming shipments against purchase orders, inspecting goods for damage, and accurately recording all received items into our inventory management system. Adherence to all safety protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is paramount. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a warehouse setting, familiarity with shipping and receiving procedures, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and organized workspace. This role involves significant physical activity, including frequent lifting of items up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and operating basic warehouse equipment. Responsibilities:
  • Unload incoming shipments accurately and efficiently.
  • Verify quantities and quality of received goods against packing slips and purchase orders.
  • Inspect all incoming merchandise for any damage or discrepancies.
  • Document all receiving activities in the inventory system.
  • Communicate any issues or discrepancies to the warehouse supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely (certification may be required for some equipment).
  • Assist with inventory counts and reconciliation as needed.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in a warehouse or receiving environment preferred.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems.
  • Ability to perform frequent lifting, up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and the correct use of PPE.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Basic computer skills.
