We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Material Handler to join our dynamic logistics team in Boston, Massachusetts. This role is crucial for the efficient operation of our warehouse, ensuring that materials are moved, organized, and prepared for distribution. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for the safe and timely movement of goods within the facility, utilizing various equipment and adhering to strict safety protocols. Responsibilities:
- Loading and unloading materials from trucks and other vehicles.
- Transporting materials to and from storage areas, production areas, and shipping docks.
- Operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Verifying material counts and identifying any discrepancies.
- Stacking and organizing materials in designated areas, ensuring proper inventory management.
- Performing regular equipment checks and reporting any maintenance needs.
- Following all company policies and procedures, especially those related to safety and material handling.
- Adhering to all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines, including safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots.
- Assisting with inventory counts and cycle counts as needed.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a warehouse or material handling role is preferred but not required.
- Ability to perform frequent Lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Familiarity with warehouse equipment operation.
- Understanding of basic inventory management principles.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a warehouse environment.
- Excellent physical stamina and ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional overtime.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment for yourself and others.
- Understanding of the importance of efficient logistics in supply chain management.
