Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Inventory Control Specialist for our San Diego, California location. This pivotal role requires a detail-oriented professional to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of our inventory management systems. You will be responsible for implementing robust inventory control measures, conducting regular audits, analyzing data, and resolving discrepancies to support our extensive logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage all aspects of inventory control, including cycle counting and physical inventories.
  • Implement and refine inventory management procedures to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Investigate and resolve all inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Utilize the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to track inventory movements, maintain stock levels, and generate reports.
  • Collaborate with procurement, receiving, and shipping departments to ensure seamless inventory flow.
  • Monitor inventory levels, identifying potential stockouts or overstock situations and recommending adjustments.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety regulations, and the use of appropriate PPE.
  • Analyze inventory data to provide insights and recommendations for operational improvements.
  • Manage the proper storage and organization of inventory to optimize space utilization and accessibility.
  • Train and mentor junior team members on inventory control best practices.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or a similar logistics role.
  • Proficiency in WMS software and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are essential.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and time-management skills.
  • Experience with various inventory control techniques (e.g., FIFO, LIFO).
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds.
  • Demonstrated understanding of logistics and supply chain management principles.
  • Commitment to safety standards, including proper use of PPE and safe lifting techniques.
