Who We Are:

At The Scholars' Grove, our mission is to empower schools and families by providing skilled intervention professionals who implement specialized reading, writing, and math programs proven to increase scores of struggling students.

Our Founder & CEO is a teacher turned School Psychologist with over 20 years of educational experience. She created The Scholars' Grove in response to the frustration schools and families face over lack of resources that provide real results for struggling students.

What You'll Do:

• Teach Spanish to beginner students ( we provide curriculum, online training provided)
• Provide helpful feedback to parents after sessions regarding student progress
• Be punctual and reliable for scheduled tutoring sessions
• Communicate professionally with parents, responding in a timely manner
• Build student / tutor relationships to promote learning and continuity
• Log your sessions worked into our convenient tutor portal

What You'll Need:

• Location: Ability to tutor in person in Bakersfield, CA (Required)
• Education: High School Diploma or GED, AND one of the following: two years of college (48 units), OR A.A. degree (or higher), OR passage of the CBEST exam. If teaching a foreign language, must be fluent in that language.
• Experience: Background as a tutor, substitute teacher, paraprofessional, teacher, or related position working with children (Required)
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication and listening skills, professional demeanor, able to build positive learning relationship with students
• Background Check: Offers of employment are conditional upon clearance of a criminal background check.
• Transportation: Reliable transportation to drive to students' homes.

• Competitive Pay. Our in-person tutors receive $30.00 an hour. Please note that tutoring sessions are 45 minutes, so $30.00 per hour is prorated to $22.50 per tutoring session.
