Mechanical CAD Designer

Overview
We develop, manufacture, and market innovative temperature sensors, position sensors, and related electronics to the automotive, industrial testing, and manufacturing industries. We are seeking a skilled Mechanical CAD Designer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating detailed mechanical designs, schematics, and system layouts using advanced CAD software. This role requires a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles, technical drafting, and familiarity with industry standards. The Mechanical CAD Designer reports to the Engineering Manager and will collaborate closely with engineers and project managers to develop innovative solutions for manufacturing and system design projects.

Duties

• Develop detailed 2D and 3D mechanical models, schematics, BOMs, and assembly drawings using Autodesk Inventor CAD software.
• Assist in system design and layout development for various mechanical projects, including product testing and manufacturing applications.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure designs meet project specifications and industry regulations.
• Prepare technical documentation including schematics, assembly instructions, and technical writing for project proposals and reports.
• Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback to optimize mechanical designs for manufacturability and functionality.

Experience

• Proven experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Autodesk Inventor (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of engineering principles including system design, schematics development, assembly processes, and technical drafting.
• Experience in mechanical design related to sensor manufacturing is preferred.
• Knowledge of technical writing for documentation purposes.
• Basic knowledge of electronics and sensors is a plus.

Pay: $ $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 40.0 per week
