Certified Athletic Trainer

Physical Therapy and Chiropractic Clinic

Schedule: Monday-Thursday 9am-6pm. Fridays 9am-12pm

No evenings, no weekends All treatment will be administered on site at the clinic. No travel to other venues.

Pay Range: $28-30 per hour based on experience.

Recognizes, manages and rehabilitates injuries . Provides techniques for prevention of injuries.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluates and manages injuries and determines whether a referral is necessary.
• Maintains a medical file on each patient and acts as a liaison between the physician and the athlete.
• Implements treatment and rehabilitation programs under the supervision of a physician.
• Develops conditioning programs for injured and non-injured patients.
• Reviews post-visit instructions with the patient.
• Assists with gathering data under the supervision of the chiropractor, physical therapist , physician or nurse practitioner.
• Administers treatments under the direction of the physician.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree and completion of an Athletic Training Program accredited by Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.

Certifications:

• Athletic Trainer Certification (ATC) certified by National Athletic Trainers Board of Certification (NATBOC).
• State licensure as an Athletic Trainer (AT) if required by state law.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider.

Complexity of Work:

• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Work Experience:

• Participation in training programs related to the ATC field preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full body motion including handling and lifting up to 45 pounds.
• Manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
• Requires standing, sitting, and walking for extended periods of time.
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
