Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Landscaper to oversee and execute a variety of landscaping projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, extensive knowledge of landscape maintenance, lawn care, and horticulture, and a passion for creating beautiful outdoor environments. This role involves supervising team members, coordinating landscaping tasks, and ensuring high-quality results across all projects. The Lead Landscaper will play a vital role in maintaining the aesthetic and functional aspects of commercial landscapes while adhering to safety standards and client specifications.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate landscaping crews to ensure efficient completion of projects
- Perform landscape maintenance including mowing, trimming, planting, pruning, and fertilizing
- Manage irrigation systems installation, repair, and maintenance to ensure optimal water usage
- Execute construction tasks related to landscape design including retaining walls, patios, walkways, and other hardscaping features
- Provide tree care services such as pruning, cabling, and removal in accordance with safety standards
- Maintain gardens by planting new flora, mulching beds, and ensuring healthy plant growth
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and tools; perform or coordinate routine maintenance
- Supervise team members' work quality and safety compliance on-site
- Collaborate with clients to understand their landscape goals and provide expert recommendations
Qualifications
- Proven experience in landscape maintenance, landscaping, lawn care, construction, tree care, irrigation, gardening, or horticulture
- Previous supervising or leadership experience in a landscaping or outdoor maintenance environment
- Ability to operate landscaping equipment safely and efficiently
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Physical stamina for outdoor work in various weather conditions; capable of lifting heavy materials as needed
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record preferred
- Strong communication skills to effectively lead teams and liaise with clients
- A dedicated team player with a passion for outdoor aesthetics and sustainable practices
