Senior Construction Estimator

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Senior Construction Estimator to join our team and lead the development of accurate, comprehensive project cost estimates. Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed construction estimates by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and bid documents using industry-standard software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam.
• Lead negotiations with subcontractors and suppliers to secure favorable pricing while maintaining quality standards.
• Develop comprehensive cost control strategies throughout the project lifecycle to ensure budgets are maintained without compromising quality or safety.
• Collaborate closely with project management teams to align estimates with project schedules, scope, and contractual obligations.
• Conduct site visits to gather on-the-ground insights that influence accurate pricing and risk assessment.
• Review contracts, change orders, and scope modifications to update estimates accordingly and mitigate potential overruns.
• Utilize your construction site experience to identify potential risks early in the estimating process and propose effective solutions.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong background in heavy civil or commercial projects.
• Proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid; familiarity with Bluebeam is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability in negotiation, contract review, and cost control techniques within the construction industry.
• Solid understanding of construction management principles, including project management practices and safety standards.
• Hands-on construction site experience that provides practical insights into on-the-ground realities impacting costs.
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
• Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail in preparing accurate estimates and managing documentation.
