An established, high-growth engineering business is looking to strengthen its design capability with an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer. This is a genuinely proactive role, offering autonomy, technical variety and the chance to work on bespoke automated systems from concept through to delivery.

The Role
* Design and develop automated mechanical systems and bespoke machinery
* Produce detailed designs using SolidWorks
* Select and integrate components including pneumatics, motors, drives and encoders
The Ideal Background
* HNC / Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or time-served equivalent)
* Strong experience in mechanical design for automation or special purpose machinery
* Proficient with CAD (SolidWorks preferred)
* Solid understanding of DfM / DfA / DFMEA and modern manufacturing processes
