Barista Shift Leader

Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Barista Shift Leader to join our vibrant café team. This leadership role is ideal for individuals passionate about coffee, customer service, and team management. As a Shift Leader, you will oversee daily operations, ensure exceptional customer experiences, and support the team in delivering high-quality food and beverage service. Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate the café team during your shift to ensure smooth operations and excellent customer service
• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, food items, and retail products with attention to quality and presentation
• Manage cash handling, POS transactions using Aloha POS or Micros POS systems accurately and efficiently
• Oversee food safety standards, proper food handling, and sanitation procedures in compliance with health regulations
• Assist with inventory management, stock replenishment, and ordering supplies as needed
• Train new team members on food preparation, POS operation, customer service protocols, and safety procedures
• Handle customer inquiries, resolve issues promptly, and ensure a positive café atmosphere
• Maintain cleanliness of the café area including equipment, counters, seating areas, and back-of-house spaces
• Support sales initiatives by engaging customers and promoting menu items effectively
• Manage time efficiently to prioritize tasks during busy periods while maintaining attention to detail

Qualifications

• Previous barista experience with knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and food service operations
• Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is preferred
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
• Proven ability in sales and upselling techniques within a retail or food industry setting
• Excellent time management skills to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously
• Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and register balancing
• Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
• Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate team members and manage shift operations effectively
• Experience in serving in café or retail environments is highly desirable
