Responsible for selling the company's freight forwarding products and services to customers in an office-based environment through remote communication channels. The Inside Sales Specialist engages with walk-in customers and generates sales through email outreach, cold calling, and lead follow-up. This role encompasses a broad range of responsibilities focused on expanding the company's customer base and increasing profitability.
The associate will be responsible for preparing and managing ocean and air freight quotations; analyzing costs, rates, and routes to provide the most efficient logistics solutions; coordinating with shipping lines, airlines, and international agents; maintaining ongoing communication with clients and suppliers; and updating internal systems with current rates and conditions. This role requires strong communication and organizational skills, effective time management, proficiency in digital tools and Microsoft Office, a strong sense of urgency, and a high level of customer service.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field.
- Experience in logistics/supply chain, international transportation, or related field (preferred).
- 1 to 2 years of experience in coordination of shipments (Air freight, ocean freight, FCL, LTL).
- Knowledge of logistics documentation, including quotations, Bills of Lading (BL), shipment processes, and the SURI system and any other documentation related to the logistics and distribution industry.
- Knowledge of ocean and air freight rates (preferred).
- Strong sales and negotiation skills, including the ability to develop competitive quotations, close deals, meet sales targets, and maintain long-term customer relationships.
- Ability to identify new business opportunities and provide consultative guidance on products and services.
- Goal oriented. Able to achieve results expected by operational priorities.
- Bilingual: fluent in English and Spanish languages, both verbal and written.
- Excellent communication and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in digital tools and Microsoft Office.
- Strong sense of urgency and a high level of customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
