Asphalt Screed Operator

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Asphalt Screed Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating heavy construction equipment and a strong background in asphalt paving. This role involves overseeing the precise application of asphalt and ensuring smooth, level surfaces on various projects. The Asphalt Screed Operator plays a vital part in delivering high-quality paving results on time and within safety standards.

Duties

• Operate asphalt screed equipment to lay asphalt surfaces with accuracy and efficiency. Attention to detail is a must
• Coordinate with crew members to ensure proper placement and compaction of asphalt materials
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on paving machinery to ensure optimal operation
• Operate additional heavy machinery including loaders, excavators, dump trucks, and commercial vehicles
• Follow safety protocols at all times to maintain a secure work environment
• Maintain detailed records of work performed and materials used during paving projects

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as screed, loaders, excavators, and dump trucks
• Mechanical knowledge related to construction machinery maintenance and troubleshooting
• Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) preferred for operating commercial vehicles and dump trucks, but not required.
• Strong understanding of construction safety standards and practices
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift heavy materials when necessary
• Prior experience in paving or asphalt installation is highly desirable
• MUST BE DEPENDABLE AND RELIABLE

Pay: $ $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
