In this role, you'll serve as a trusted advisor to business and technology leaders and a guiding force for your team. You'll focus on piping impactful insights to the right people at the right time, supporting analytics and data science initiatives, and aligning data infrastructure and strategy with business objectives. • Monitor and report on project progress, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensuring alignment with the overall program roadmap.
  • Establish and enforce program timelines, and resource allocation, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Drive risk management and issue resolution, identifying potential roadblocks early and proactively implementing corrective actions.
  • Optimize and maintain cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) to ensure high availability, reliability, and cost efficiency for all data initiatives.
  • Develop and enforce data engineering best practices, including data governance, security, and quality assurance, across all project phases.
  • Conduct regular status meetings and reviews with stakeholders, ensuring transparency in progress and ensuring expectations are met.
  • Oversee the integration of new data sources, managing both short-term implementation and long-term integration strategies.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment, providing guidance, mentorship, and ensuring that team objectives align with broader business goals.
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation of engineering processes, project milestones, and system architecture for future reference and compliance.
  • Evaluate emerging tools and technologies, proposing new solutions or improvements to enhance the efficiency and impact of data engineering projects.

About you:

  • Data Engineering Background: You've spent at least 10 years in Software/Data Engineering Development and/or Team management roles with an emphasis on implementing DWH and ETL/ELT industry best practices. You understand data platform architecture concepts and know how to promote a project from inception to delivery.
  • Technology Leader: You take pride in your ability to lead others in fulfilling their potential and building a team of professionals where each team member's unique contribution can be realized. You continuously learn and expand in your knowledge of your domain and provide innovative and cutting edge solutions.
  • Self Driver: You are a self managed individual, you require little guidance, and take the initiative whenever possible. You respond well to changing requirements and always keep your eyes on the goal, providing your business stakeholders with the best access to impactful data.
