Direct Support

Progress Inc. is a not for profit provider agency that has been serving adults with intellectual disabilities and seniors since 1971. Progress provides day, residential and employment services for this population throughout Davidson and surrounding counties.

The primary objective of all positions at Progress is to assist the people we support to lead the most independent life possible. This may include tasks like assisting with activities of daily living, getting out in the community, having conversation, working on achieving personal goals, etc. (Anything you may do for a friend or loved one needing assistance is what you may be asked to do in any of these positions.)

• Shifts will typically be 6-8 hours and between 8am - 4pm Monday - Friday

• Part-time and full-time available.

Duties:

• Provide support with activities of daily living directly to adults with intellectual disabilities. Work location could be in the person's home and / or out in the community.

• Create and implement meaningful activities the person supported chooses to engage in throughout the day.

• Assist people supported to achieve their desired goals of employment and community participation.

• Work with individuals to increase their level of independence and decrease their need for reliance on paid supports

• Complete and submit daily written / typed documentation representing what staff and person supported did during time worked

Requirements:

• Must be able to effectively use technology (Smart Phone, Tablet, Laptop) to track time worked, complete documentation and submit reports

• Must be at least 20 years of age

• Must have a high school diploma

• Must not be listed on any registries reporting any form of fraud or abuse

• Must be able to pass a criminal background check

• Must have valid DL, vehicle insurance and your OWN reliable transportation

• Must be able to complete approximately 40 hours of PAID pre-service training
