CNC Programming Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to set up and program CNC machines, ensuring efficient and precise manufacturing processes. In this role, you will interpret blueprints, optimize programs, and troubleshoot issues to maintain high-quality production standards. Your expertise in Mazatrol or G-code programming will be crucial in maximizing machine performance and minimizing downtime.

Responsibilities

• Set up CNC machines, including installing fixtures and making necessary machine control settings to prepare for production runs.
• Write and modify CNC programs using Mazatrol or G-code based on blueprints and specifications to produce accurate parts.
• Monitor machine operations, detect malfunctions, and make necessary adjustments to maintain process control and minimize defects.
• Conduct first-piece sample part inspections, checking dimensions and finishes against prints to ensure quality standards are met.
• Install tool registers and offsets to optimize cutting performance and tool life.
• Troubleshoot and resolve programming or machine-related issues to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.

Qualifications

Required Skills

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Proficiency in G-Code and M-Code programming.
• Experience with CNC Lathes (2-4 Axis) and CAM Software.
• Strong understanding of GD&T principles.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Mazatrol versions T-32, T+, Fusion, Matrix control / Smooth Control.
• Familiarity with 2, 3, & 4 axis lathes, live tooling, and Y axis.
• Experience with CNC Swiss Lathes (Star).
• Proficiency in PLC troubleshooting and programming.
• Experience with machine setups for production runs.
