Advanced Orthopedics & Sports Medicine opened Sports Plus Physical Therapy in October 2019. We want someone who is passionate about helping people. We are seeking someone who can incorporate evidence-based practice with the ability to communicate and connect with patients. We are a lower volume clinic, where we strive for more direct and quality patient care.
We pride ourselves in providing the most up to date evidence-based procedures in the practice advanced orthopedics and sports related medicine. We provide top quality treatment for all age groups in the areas of orthopedic and sports medicine injury care as well as specialty care in the ranges of spine care, knee, foot & ankle care, shoulder care, fractures, trauma care, minimally invasive surgery of all areas of musculoskeletal including cartilage injuries and arthritis.
We are looking for FULL TIME or PART TIME PHYSICAL THERAPY ASSISTANT who will aid in a variety of patient care, including performing testing and help with complex procedures. We are searching for Physical Therapist Assistants that want to be part of a collaborative team that encourages the achievement of professional career goals and personal growth. Hours will be Monday – Friday with possible expansion into Saturdays on occasions. The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) is responsible for:
- Direct client care
- The Physical Therapist Assistant works with the physical therapist to implement patient's treatment program.
- The Physical Therapist Assistant coordinates with other members of the rehabilitation team to implement activities and programs with specific goals defined by the patient's capacity and tolerance and in accordance with physical therapist plan and physician orders.
- Being involved in the further development of rehabilitative services
- The Physical Therapist Assistant, under the guidance of the physical therapist, will work with and instruct family members and caregivers of the patient on their treatment plan and how to implement that program at home.
The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) Requirements:
- Be a graduate of an accredited program for physical therapist assistants
- Current Nevada state PTA license or actively in the application process.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Current BLS required
- Familiarity with electronic documentation systems
- Excellent communication both written and verbal and organizational skills
- Knowledgeable of current orthopedic treatment protocols and rehabilitation
- Experience in outpatient orthopedics and sports medicine preferred
- Maintains continuing education credits as required by the State
- Ability to stand for long periods of time, bend, kneel and lift heavy objects.
