Job Summary: Polar Beverages is looking for a Tier 2 / Senior Systems Administrator to support critical IT systems in a 24/7 manufacturing environment. This role handles escalated technical issues, keeps essential systems running, and works closely with the larger IT team to support company-wide technology needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Tier 2/3 support for escalated tickets and production-impacting issues
  • Troubleshoot servers, networks, manufacturing PCs, HMIs, and related equipment
  • Work collaboratively with the larger IT team on projects, standards, and cross-site support
  • Manage Windows Server/Linux environments and virtual platforms (VMware/Nutanix)
  • Support Microsoft 365, Azure/Entra AD, and on-prem Active Directory
  • Administer DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs, and firewall configurations
  • Monitor system uptime and resolve issues quickly to minimize production downtime
  • Perform patching, updates, and maintenance within scheduled windows
  • Support production-line hardware (barcode scanners, label printers, rugged devices, thin clients)
  • Maintain backups and disaster recovery systems
  • Document procedures and maintain accurate technical records
  • Assist with infrastructure upgrades and new system deployments
  • Mentor Tier 1 staff when needed
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and handle after-hours emergencies

Requirements:

  • 3–5+ years of experience in systems administration or advanced IT support
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Azure/Entra and/or Linux
  • Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and Azure AD
  • Proficient with VMware or Nutanix/AHV/Prism
  • Solid understanding of networking basics (TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs)
  • Experience supporting IT in a manufacturing or industrial setting preferred
  • Ability to work in a 24/7 production environment and participate in on-call rotation
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Valid driver's license and own transportation.
  • Travel is required. Work overtime or on-call as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with MES, SCADA, or other manufacturing systems
  • Intune, Manage Engine products, MDM Platforms
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity tools (EDR, MFA, SIEM)
  • Relevant certifications (CompTIA, Microsoft, VMware, Cisco)

Working Environment:

Physical Requirements:

  • Interaction with people and technology while either standing or sitting.
  • Must be able to communicate face-to-face and on the phone.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted, climb stairs, and crawl beneath desks and in tight areas.
