À propos

This is a true hands-on leadership role inside a fast-paced, high-performing law firm. A nationally recognized personal injury and medical malpractice trial firm is hiring an Accounting Manager to partner closely with the Controller, oversee a team of 4 - 6 accounting professionals, and own the day-to-day financial operations of a complex, multi-entity organization. You'll manage payroll for a 200-person firm, oversee high-volume case disbursements, lead month-end close, and help drive accuracy and discipline across the general ledger. The partners expect ownership, speed, and sound judgment, and they give you the autonomy to deliver. They're looking for a sharp, confident accounting leader who moves fast, communicates clearly, and thrives without micromanagement in an environment where performance matters.

  • Support the Controller with daily accounting operations, treasury, and general ledger oversight
  • Lead month-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial accuracy
  • Oversee bi-monthly payroll for approximately 200 employees through ADP
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop 4–6 accounting team members
  • Manage high-volume case disbursements for personal injury and medical malpractice matters
  • Coordinate with outside CPA firms and auditors
  • Support and optimize the transition from QuickBooks to Sage Intacct
  • Manage banking relationships, cash flow, and reconciliations
  • Maintain financials across 12 entities, including law firms, partner PCs, and real estate holdings
  • Communicate financial insights clearly to partners, attorneys, and operations leadership

Accounting Manager Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • 3 - 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Experience supporting a Controller or senior accounting leader
  • Proven supervisory experience
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with QuickBooks or Sage Intacct strongly preferred
  • Payroll oversight experience a plus
  • Legal or professional services accounting experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to work quickly, accurately, and independently in a demanding environment

Benefits

  • Annual discretionary bonus, typically around one month's salary
  • Annual performance reviews and cost-of-living increases each December
  • 100% employer-paid medical insurance for employees (PPO & HSA options)
  • Dental and vision coverage with employer contribution
  • Company-paid life insurance, short-term, and long-term disability
  • 401(k) with company match after one year
  • PTO + 5 personal days
  • Stable, growing firm with strong leadership and long-term retention

This role is built for an Accounting Manager who leads from the front, values autonomy, and wants long-term stability inside a respected, results-driven law firm. If you want responsibility, trust, and a team that works hard without chaos, this is the seat. Apply now
