Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role involves providing essential support to patients under the supervision of registered nurses and healthcare professionals. Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility to promote comfort and independence
- Monitor and record vital signs including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure accurately
- Support patients in their nutritional needs by helping with feeding and ensuring proper meal intake
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by assisting with hygiene routines and ensuring infection control protocols are followed
- Observe patients for any changes in condition and report concerns promptly to registered nursing staff
- Aid in the repositioning of patients to prevent bedsores and improve circulation
- Support administrative tasks such as updating patient records and assisting with documentation as required
Skills
- Strong patient care skills with a compassionate approach towards individuals of all ages and backgrounds
- Knowledge of basic anatomy to understand patient needs and assist effectively
- Excellent communication skills to interact clearly with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Ability to work well under supervision while demonstrating initiative when appropriate
- Organised with attention to detail, especially when recording vital signs and maintaining documentation
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations while prioritising patient safety
