We are excited to announce our Temporary Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) opening in Secaucus, NJ The licensed practical nurse will be responsible for ensuring all clients receive medications in a timely fashion, proper follow up for care, and other responsibilities as assigned. The licensed practical nurse is responsible for executing strategy and interventions related to all organizational/strategic changes, enhancing existing services, and positive outcomes with direction from the Nurse Manager and/or Director of Nursing. This is a temporary position beginning in February 2025 through July 2025, anticipated.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities of a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN):
- Maintain compliance with applicable licensing, regulatory, and accreditation standards:
a) Participate in audits/inspections as needed.
b) Ensuring the coordination and integration of nursing services with other client care services to ensure continuity of care for each client;
c) Reporting requirements as outlined by Department of Health and/or Center for Disease Control (CDC)
d) Participating in team conferences with the multidisciplinary team and the client care committee, where applicable.
e) Maintain compliance with but not limited to the NJ Department of Health regulations for residential substance use disorder treatment programs, outpatient substance use disorder treatment programs, outpatient mental health treatment programs, DEA, CARF, etc.
f) Provide in-service trainings to agency staff and clients as needed.
- Deliver High-Quality Nursing Care
a) Participating in the development of client treatment plans under the supervision of a registered nurse;
b) Providing face-to-face health care monitoring for the facility's clients;
c) Collaborate with other departments to support proposals and implementation plans for new or enhanced services.
d) Execute steps related to project goals and objectives for grants and special initiatives including producing accurate and timely reporting.
e) Complete routine audits of medication administration records and medication carts, including other related medical operations to ensure compliance.
f) Respond to all client concerns and feedback.
a) Respond to the needs of clients enrolled in withdrawal management services during shift, communicating all vitals, and other ratings to Nurse Manager, Director of Nursing, Medical Director, or other related staff in real time.
b) Apply evidence-based practices and nursing standards to deliver high-quality care.
c) Promote patient independence by establishing patient care goals; teaching and counseling patient and family; provide education related to illness/disease, medications, and self-care skills.
d) Triage and assess client's needs, and develop appropriate care plans.
e) Provide information to patient and health care team by answering questions and requests.
f) Maintain safe and clean working environment by designing and implementing procedures, rules, and regulations.
g) Maintain patient confidence and protects operations by monitoring confidential information processing.
h) Train program staff on observation of self-administration of medication.
i) Document services delivered in the electronic clinical record no later than end of shift.
j) Perform nursing assessments for clients enrolled in care, including but not limited to vitals, medical history, etc.
k) Administer medications including injections, and all forms of medications for opioid and alcohol use disorders (i.e. Methadone, Buprenorphine, Vivitrol, etc.), where permitted within scope of practice.
l) Draw labs and collect other specimens (i.e. urine, saliva, etc.)
