Key Responsibilities

• Decorate cakes according to established designs, customer requests, and seasonal themes
• Prepare and apply icings, buttercream, whipped cream, ganache, fondant, and decorative elements
• Assemble, frost, and finish cakes to meet bakery standards for quality and appearance
• Customize cakes for special occasions such as birthdays, weddings, holidays, and events
• Ensure accuracy in orders, including design details, inscriptions, and delivery timelines
• Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe work environment in compliance with health regulations
• Properly handle and store decorating tools, ingredients, and finished products
• Collaborate with bakers, front staff, and management to ensure smooth workflow
• Assist with inventory of decorating supplies and notify management of shortages
• Assist customers with cake selections, custom orders, and provide exceptional customer service to enhance their experience

Skills

• Proven experience in cake decorating, pastry arts, or culinary arts with a strong portfolio of decorated cakes
• Skilled in food handling, safety procedures, and maintaining hygiene standards in a commercial kitchen environment
• Knowledge of baking techniques, food production processes, and culinary best practices
• Strong attention to detail with an eye for aesthetics and presentation
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy bakery or kitchen setting
• Customer service skills to engage positively with clients and understand their decorating preferences
• Familiarity with food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures

• Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays as needed
• Early morning shifts may be required
