Duties

• Review detailed construction plans, specifications, and blueprints using tools like Plan Swith to extract relevant data for accurate estimating.
• Develop comprehensive cost estimates by analyzing labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor quotes.
• Utilize HeavyBid or similar estimating software to compile and manage bid data efficiently.
• Engage in negotiation with suppliers and subcontractors to secure favorable pricing while maintaining quality standards.
• Collaborate closely with project managers and construction management teams to align estimates with project scope and timelines.
• Conduct site visits to gather on-the-ground insights that influence cost control and project planning.
• Prepare detailed bid proposals, including scope of work, pricing breakdowns, and contractual considerations.
• Assist in contract review processes, ensuring all estimates comply with contractual obligations and project requirements.
• Monitor ongoing project costs for accuracy and implement cost control measures as needed throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

• Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong understanding of construction management principles.
• Proficiency in Plan Swith for digital plan review and markup.
• Experience using HeavyBid or similar estimating software for bid preparation.
• Solid knowledge of construction site operations, contracts, and project management practices.
• Excellent negotiation skills to secure competitive pricing while fostering positive relationships with vendors and subcontractors.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex plans and specifications accurately.
• Familiarity with cost control techniques, pricing strategies, and budget management in construction projects.
