Job Description:

Polysomnographic Technician:
The Polysomnographic Tech interacts with patients, families, physicians, staff and equipment to document and treat suspected sleep disorders in a safe and caring environment. Responsible for patient set up, acquisition and starting the polysomnographic acquisition in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with physician orders. Executes scoring of testing parameters according to Department Standards and correctly implements treatment options for sleep apnea. This position demonstrates competency in all sleep test to include: Polysomnography, PAP titrations, Oxygen titrations, MSLT, MWT and HST.
Polysomnographic Assistant:
The Polysomnographic Tech Assistant is an entry-level position that requires the individual to work under the direct supervision of a registered technologist. This individual will assist in tasks such as room preparation, patient set-up and associated interventions while helping with other tasks that are necessary for patient comfort and safety during patient sleep tests. Performs and recognizes the need for routine maintenance of sleep equipment to consistently maintain quality results. Job Requirements Education

Polysomnographic Technician

Education:
Required: High School Diploma
Preferred: Associates Degree in an allied health related field
Experience:
Preferred: Minimum one year experienced as an RPSGT or RRT
Skills:
Strong clinical decision making
Basic computer skills
Strong communication skills
Ability to work independently
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Required: RPSGT or SDS OR registered through ABSM, BRPT, or NBRC AND must obtain RPSGT or SDS within 1 year of hire
Preferred: REEGT or RRT

Polysomnographic Assistant

Education:
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent 
Experience:
Required: At least 1 year experience in a healthcare setting
Skills:
Strong clinical decision making
Basic computer skills
Strong communication skills
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
N/A
