Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician at
Lexington Premier Nursing and Rehab
plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and safety of our skilled nursing facility. This position involves performing routine maintenance and repairs on building systems, equipment, and grounds to maintain a safe, clean, and functional environment for our residents and staff.
Work Environment:
This position requires working both indoors and outdoors, with exposure to various environmental conditions. Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends, as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Routine Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections of the facility's systems and equipment, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks according to established schedules. Maintain, clean, and repair carpets to ensure high-quality appearance and longevity.
- Repairs: Diagnose and repair issues related to electrical systems, plumbing, heating, and cooling systems. Address and resolve problems promptly to minimize disruptions.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure that all maintenance work complies with relevant safety regulations and facility policies. Perform safety checks and address any hazards or safety concerns immediately.
- Emergency Response: Respond to emergency maintenance requests as needed, including after hours calls. Prioritize tasks based on urgency and impact on resident safety and comfort.
- Vendor Coordination: Assist with the coordination of external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs or services. Ensure that all work performed by external parties meets facility standards and requirements.
- Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the upkeep of maintenance tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition and properly stored.
- Facility Upkeep: Assist with general facility maintenance tasks, including landscaping, painting, and minor construction projects. Support other departments as needed.
- Communication: Collaborate with facility management and staff to identify and address maintenance needs. Provide clear and timely communication regarding the status of maintenance requests and repairs.
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Formal training or certification in maintenance, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or a related field is preferred. Previous experience in a maintenance role, especially in a healthcare or skilled nursing setting, is highly desirable.

- Proficient in a variety of maintenance and repair techniques.
