We are looking for a diligent Receiving Clerk to join our logistics team in Richmond, Virginia. In this role, you will be instrumental in managing the inflow of goods to our distribution center, ensuring accuracy and efficiency from the moment shipments arrive. Your responsibilities will include unloading trucks, meticulously inspecting incoming merchandise for any damages or discrepancies, and accurately recording all received items into our inventory system. Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe receiving area is also a key aspect of this position. We place a strong emphasis on workplace safety, requiring all employees to adhere to safety protocols, utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and employ safe Lifting techniques. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Prior experience in a warehouse or receiving environment is preferred, but we are willing to train motivated individuals. - Receive and unload incoming shipments from various carriers.
- Inspect all incoming goods for quality and quantity accuracy.
- Verify packing slips and purchase orders against delivered items.
- Document all received items in the inventory system promptly.
- Identify and report any damages or discrepancies.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe receiving dock area.
- Follow all established safety guidelines, including PPE usage.
- Practice safe Lifting procedures for all items handled.
- Communicate effectively with shipping carriers and internal departments.
