Join our dynamic team in Washington, D.C. as a Forklift Operator! We are looking for experienced and safety-conscious individuals to operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. This role is essential for the smooth operation of our warehouse and **logistics** activities. You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe movement of materials throughout the facility. A strong commitment to **safety** and proficiency in forklift operation are paramount. Proper use of **PPE** and adherence to all **safety** guidelines are mandatory. Your role is key in maintaining the flow of goods within our **logistics** network.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to load and unload materials.
- Move products and materials between different areas of the warehouse.
- Stack and pile materials according to established procedures and **safety** regulations.
- Perform routine checks on forklift equipment to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately to supervisors.
- Assist with inventory management, including put-away and retrieval of stock.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Follow all **safety** guidelines and **PPE** requirements at all times.
- Aid in receiving and shipping operations as needed.
- Participate in training sessions and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification or license.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- Knowledge of warehouse **logistics** and inventory control principles.
- Ability to **lift** up to 50 lbs.
- Strong understanding of forklift **safety** procedures and regulations.
- Must wear required **PPE**, including safety shoes and high-visibility vest.
- Good hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
